Advertiser Staff

The 2009 Aloha Care Package drive, which provides island-style goodies to be shipped to Hawai'i soldiers in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, kicks off today and will continue until June 12.

Operation Homefront of Hawai'i, in conjunction with Rotary Club of West Pearl, will collect donations of Spam, Kona coffee, University of Hawai'i logo items, Hawaiian music CDs and other products associated with Hawai'i at Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange and Lex Brodie's locations in Honolulu and Pearlridge.

The groups hope to send 500 care packages in time for Independence Day.

Monetary gifts are also being accepted online at www.operationhomefront.net/hawaii.

Checks may be mailed to: Operation Homefront of Hawai'i, 1298 Kukila St., Honolulu, 96818.
