Beach cleanups planned for World Oceans Day

The Waikiki Aquarium will celebrate the United Nations World Oceans Day June 8 with beach cleanups at Kaimana and Waimanalo beaches, aided by aquarium staff and volunteers from Duke's Waikiki restaurant.

Kona Brewing Company's Koko Marina pub has offered to donate a percentage of its proceeds for sales between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. June 8 to the Waikiki Aquarium.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association's Pacific Services division will be at the Aquarium all day June 8 offering kid-friendly activities and videos aimed at educating attendees about the importance of clean and live seas.
