Visitor from Washington State drowns at Kauai's Tunnels Beach

LIHUE — A 76-year-old man from Spokane, Wash., apparently drowned Friday near Tunnels Beach in Haena, Kauai fire officials said.
David Grainger and his son were snorkeling around 10:05 a.m. when Grainger complained of choking. His son called for help and lifeguards responded.
Grainger was unconscious when lifeguards brought him to shore and began to apply CPR.
Grainger was taken to Wilcox Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
