Dan Cooke is returning to Hawaii to be the new weather anchor for Sunrise on KGMB9 and Ben Gutierrez is joining the station’s Severe Weather Team, KGMB9 announced today on its morning show.

Cooke spent 15 years in Hawaii television before his last broadcast in 2002. Cooke reported on news and weather for KITV and KHNL from 1987-2002.
Gutierrez comes back to Hawaii television after leaving KITV in December 2008 where he spent 10 years as a weather anchor and general assignment reporter.
The station said Cooke begins his full-time role as weather anchor later this summer. Meanwhile, Gutierrez will immediately begin working with Guy Hagi and Malika Dudley throughout the hurricane season on all newscasts. He will also be sharing the weekday morning and weekend shifts with Dudley.
