Bishop Museum to feature kapa kites from Waianae students

Bishop Museum’s Science Adventure Center will feature 25 kapa kites that were made by fourth-graders from the Waianae Coast in a new exhibit called “Maui the Kite Maker.”
The exhibit will be unveiled at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at at the Science Adventure Center and will be on display indefinitely.
Sixty-four students from Waianae Elementary School and Ka Waihona O Ka Na‘auao Public Charter School worked on the kapa project as part of the 2009 Science and Culture of Art, a Bishop Museum outreach program.
