The search for a new women's basketball coach at the University of Hawai'i is headed for the home stretch and could be wrapped up as soon as this weekend.

The five-member search committee is scheduled to meet in person with four finalists this week, possibly concluding the sessions Friday.

The committee can recommend one or more of them for the consideration of athletic director Jim Donovan, who will name a replacement for Jim Bolla.

Donovan declined to specify a timetable for the announcement other than "soon," but said he hoped to sit in on the final round of interviews.

Bolla was terminated April 6 for what the school said was cause following five years as head coach. He filed a wrongful termination suit April 13 and is seeking reinstatement and damages.

The search committee began with a list of 85 applicants.
