The top baby name for boys in Hawaii last year was Ethan, while the No. 1 girls’ name was Chloe.

That’s according to data compiled from Social Security card applications.
Nationally, the top boys’ and girls’ names in 2008 were Jacob and Emma.
In the Islands, Ethan was followed in order by Noah, Isaiah, Jayden, Elijah, Joshua, Jacob, Aiden, Tyler and James.
And Chloe will be playing with Isabella, Madison, Mia, Sophia, Ava, Lily, Hailey, Emma and Kayla.
Michael was second nationally, followed by Ethan, Joshua, Daniel, Alexander, Anthony, William, Christopher and Matthew.
Isabella followed Emma nationally, and then came Emily, Madison, Ava, Olivia, Sophia, Abigail, Elizabeth and then Hawaii’s favorite, Chloe.
