Meeting covers affordable housing project for homeless

Advertiser Staff

A community meeting on a city plan to build an affordable housing project for homeless people in Chinatown is set for tonight at Beretania Community Park.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m.

The city is proposing to build the River Street Residences at 1330 River St. It will have 100 units and provide long-term rental housing to people making the transition out of homelessness.

The city said the project will have 24-hour staffing.

An estimate on how much the project will cost has not yet been released.

For more information on the project or the meeting, call the city Department of Community Services at 768-7750.
