IN A STATE OF FAIR PLAY

The 50th State Fair opened last night and, like it always does, it'll bring the good times for a solid month until it closes June 21.

The popular annual attraction features all the usual good stuff — keiki and adult rides, food booths and Hedrick's Racing Pigs (we heart the speedy little pigs) — plus a few new attractions. Word on the street is that this year's event will include a Wolverine appearance (Saturday and Sunday), a mud-wrestling pit, a visiting hypnotist and Ag-Ventureland, a kids' area with an agricultural focus (think farm fair).

Also making an appearance on June 19 and 20 is America's Best Dance Crew finalist Fanny Pak.

SECOND 'NIGHT'

Forget the bad memory that was "Night at the Museum" and start with a fresh slate for the sequel, which looks like it might actually be funny. If you just can't go there, "Terminator Salvation" opened last night and what's not to like about that cyborg?

FOR A GOOD KOZ

Saxophonist Dave Koz returns to Honolulu to perform with the Honolulu Symphony Pops. Koz and the orchestra will perform a program of chart-topping pop songs 8 p.m. Saturday at the Waikiki Shell ($15-$90, www.ticketmaster.com, 877-750-4400).

ARTS AND CULTURE

The Native Hawaiian Arts Market is this weekend, and we're going.

Bishop Museum, 1525 Bernice St. / 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday / $3 / 847-3511

CZECH? CHECK.

A small group of Honolulu Symphony musicians takes on the works of Czech classical composers for a special chamber music performance titled — what else? — "Czech, Please!" Catch the show at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Atherton Performing Arts Studio ($15-$25, 955-8821).

YO QUIERO TACO TUESDAYS!

Everyone has a "Taco Tuesdays" happy hour, but Therapy Sports Grill in Hawai'i Kai (Koko Marina Center, 394-8200) does one better by offering $1 tacos (and $3 beers) every Tuesday, all night long from 5 p.m. until closing.

HIGH ON LAUGHS

Comic super duo Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, better known as Cheech and Chong, are together again on the comedy circuit for the first time since the 1980s. The standup pair takes over the Waikiki Shell Thursday night.

JOIN THE GLEE CLUB

See how a real glee club does it at a free concert 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Andrew's Cathedral (229 Queen Emma Square, 524-2822), courtesy of the Pomona College Glee Club.
