Hawaii weather: Light winds, a few showers

Light and variable winds are expected to persist over the state into Thursday, the National Weather Service said.

The winds will likely generate afternoon and evening showers, according to the Hawaii forecast.
Additional showers are possible near Kauai and Oahu tonight and tomorrow.
Light trades are expected to make a return during the second half of the week.

Here’s how the middle of the work week is shaping up:

Today: Scattered showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Thursday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. North wind around 7 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Thursday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
