Woman airlifted to hospital after a truck rolls over her

Advertiser Staff

Firefighters airlifted a woman from the Ka'ena Point area yesterday after a truck rolled over her, an official said.

The fire department received a call at 6:28 p.m. that a person was under a truck. By the time emergency personnel reached the scene, about a half-mile from Ka'ena Point on the Waialua side, she had been freed from the truck, fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.

The woman, believed to be in her late 30s, was conscious but had some injuries, Seelig said. The fire department helicopter brought her up in a Stokes basket and flew to Dillingham Air Field, where the woman was transferred to an ambulance and driven to a hospital.
