Central Union Church begins demolition of fire-damaged historic building

Advertiser Staff

The two-week demolition of a historic Central Union Church preschool building began today, nine months after the structure was badly damaged by fire.

The project will continue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day except Sundays through June 14.
After the fire, the church had had to modify other existing facilities and extend its school year by one week to accommodate for the loss of the building.
The school hopes to raise $13 million to help with construction of a new facility.
