Spirits were high today for a canoe regatta held as a tribute to Hawaiçi’s Wounded Warriors.

More than 50 teams signed up for the quarter-mile canoe races that were held off Rainbow Point near the USS Arizona Memorial visitor center.
The event is a tribute to the approximately 300 military members in Hawaiçi who are recovering from their wounds and injuries.
The regatta is an outgrowth of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s "Malama na Koa" support program for wounded military members.
