Campaign workshop for women

The Hawaii State Commission On the Status of Women is sponsoring a workshop Wednesday to help women who want to run for elected office or learn more about working on political campaigns.

Ready To Run is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 3 in the state Capitol auditorium. The event is free and will include breakfast, lunch, a reception and campaign planning materials.

The workshop will feature women legislators from the Republican and Democratic parties who will share insights on what aspiring candidates need to know to be successful. The panelists will include state Sen. Jill Tokuda and Reps. Barbara Marumoto, Cindy Evans, Jessica Wooley and Marilyn Lee.

Sen. Carol Fukunaga will discuss "Technology in Campaigning," and representatives from the Office of Elections and Campaign Spending Commission will present election rules and regulations."
