Showers in forecast for Oahu, Kauai

Showers — on and off pretty much through the day, with some of them heavy — are in the forecast today. The wet conditions are expected to last into the night.

The rain that fell on the island in an off and on fashion forced many island residents to pull out and seek refuge under their umbrellas to avoid getting drenched in the sometimes heavy downpour, Tuesday, as was the case here in Manoa Valley.

The National Weather Service says Oahu and Kauai residents can expect a mostly cloudy day with numerous showers, especially in windward areas.

Maui and Hawaii counties should see partly sunny conditions with scattered windward and mauka showers.
Highs will be in the mid-80s, with trade winds at 10 mph to 20 mph.
The weather service says it will be mostly cloudy and breezy tonight, with scattered showers in windward and mauka areas.
