A 79-year-old woman who was struck by a car as she crossed South King Street in Möçiliçili Tuesday morning has died of her injuries, police said.

The woman’s identity was not released yesterday.
Police said the woman was crossing the intersection of South King and Coolidge streets with several friends when she was hit by a Ford Taurus driven by a 64-year-old woman. The older woman was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident, police said.
The woman was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition, but she died at 2:38 p.m. that day, police said.
The case initially was classified as a negligent injury, but was reclassified yesterday as a negligent homicide case.
This is the 46th traffic fatality on Oçahu this year compared with 41 at the same time last year.
