Police seeking 4 suspects in alleged sexual assault

Hawaii County police are asking for the public's help in a sexual assault investigation.

Police said a woman was waiting for a ride on the makai side of Kuakini Highway in Kona about 1 a.m. Sunday morning when four men attacked her.

Police say the woman sustained multiple injuries to her face and neck and that at least one of the men sexually assaulted her.

The men are described as being in their early 20s.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed this incident call Detective Gerald Wike of the Juvenile Aid Section at 808-326-4646, ext. 302, or the police non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 in Hilo or 808-329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
