Six finalists for police chief have been selected by the Honolulu Police Commission, four of them members of the Honolulu Police Department and two others who are high-ranking police officers from the Mainland, commission Chairwoman Christine Camp said tonight.

The four local finalists are: Deputy Police Chief Paul Putzulu, who has been acting chief; assistant police chiefs Debora Tandal and Delbert Tatsuyama; and Captl. Louis Kealoha.
The two Mainland officers are Harry Markely, a police commander for the Phoenix Police Department and Gary Yamashiroya, a commander in the Chicago Police Department.
Camp said the commission will interview the finalists next week. Public testimony is expected to be taken at its meeting at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
