UH's Punzal named All-WAC first team

Hawai'i junior midfielder Mari Punzal was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference first team for the second straight year.

Rainbow Wahine senior forwards Ambree Ako and Britta Bourne earned second-team honors on the 2009 All-WAC squad.

Punzal scored both of her goals this season in WAC play, including one game-winner.

Ako earned her third all-WAC honor, finishing the season with seven goals and five assists. She recorded four goals and three assists for 11 points during WAC play, tying for the conference lead.

Bourne was honored is her only season with the Rainbow Wahine, leading the team with 10 goals and 23 points on the season. She scored four goals in conference play, including a hat trick at Idaho in the season-finale.
