All traffic lanes on Ala Wai Boulevard were reopened at 1 p.m. today following a water main break that started yesterday morning.

Ala Wai was closed between Namahana and Pau streets earlier today so crews could resurface the road.
The area was shut down early yesterday morning when a 16-inch main ruptured, causing the road to buckle.
Board of Water Supply crews last night repaired the 16-inch main and an 8-inch that also was damaged.
By midnight, they had restored water to several low-rise apartment buildings that had been cut off.
The Board of Water Supply said the 16-inch main was installed in 1955 and the 8-inch main in 1971.
