Fish can be a tad tricky to photograph, even without hordes of moving onlookers and the challenge of shooting through glass. Waikíkí Aquarium presents an evening with and for photographers — an opportunity for amateur photographers to snap pictures without the crowds. Professional photographers will be on hand to offer tips on technique. Attendees can then send in their favorite photos, which may get posted on the aquarium's Web site. Recommended for photographers 16 and older. 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday. $8 ($10 for nonmembers). Registration required at 440-9011, www.waquarium.org.

STAY FRESHLY SCENTED WITH TRAVEL TINS THAT ARE A CINCH TO CARRY ON

Holiday travel looms and the Transportation Security Agency's 3-1-1 rule is still the standard. Here's the perfect way to take fragrance with you without worrying about spills or quantities. L'Occitane's lovely fragrance butters slip in your purse, your carry-on or your checked bag, and since they're solid, they don't have to comply with the rule. The tins measure just 1 1/2 inches. Available in four fragrances: Bergamot Tea, Rose, Cherry Blossom and Citrus Verbena. $10 at L'Occitane, Ala Moana Center, www.loccitane.com.

BERLIN

GIANT DECORATED DOMINOS WILL COMMEMORATE THE FALL OF THE WALL

Events all over Berlin this month commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago. For three decades, the 100-mile wall was manned by armed guards. The Berlin Wall Documentation Center notes 136 people were killed trying to cross from the east into the west.

At Alexanderplatz, an exhibit chronicles the peaceful revolution. Tomorrow, Berlin's Festival of Freedom gala will feature more than 1,000 giant dominos tumbling along more than a mile of the former border at Brandenburg Gate, symbolizing the event. The dominos will be decorated, most by young Berlin residents. The project's aim, say organizers, is "to encourage young people to reflect on what the fall of the Wall meant."
