The state’s weather will remain unsettled through the rest of the week with the possibility of locally heavy showers and thunderstorms, National Weather Service said.

A flash flood watch remains in effect for all islands through late tomorrow night. A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
An upper level low just north of the state will remain near the islands at through tomorrow, bringing with it the threat of heavy rain. At 8 p.m., the system was forecast to brush the northwest coast of Kauai and move over Niihau later tonight.
Meanwhile, a high surf warning was issued late this afternoon for east- and exposed north-facing shores of all islands until noon tomorrow. Surf along east shores will be in the 12- to 20-foot range tonight and tomorrow morning, the weather service said. The surf is forecast to drop to 10 to 14 feet tomorrow afternoon through Friday.
A high surf warning means that dangerous, battering waves will pound the shoreline. This will result in dangerous swimming conditions and rip currents, and beach erosion.
