A boy who appeared to be less than 5-yeas-old was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition after bystanders pulled him from a swimming pool at the Pearl One apartment building, 98-500 Koauka Loop in Aiea.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics were sent to the scene at 12:42 p.m.
Good Samaritans were performing CPR on the boy when the paramedics arrived and took over, Cheplic said.
EMS personnel were able to stabilize the boy before transporting him to the hospital, Cheplic said.
