Coast Guard tows stalled fishing boat off Kaneohe

The Coast Guard cutter Galveston today towed to shore a fishing boat whose engine quit working about eight miles off Käneçohe, the Coast Guard reported.

The 40-foot boat reported late Wednesday night that its engine would not work, despite having plenty of fuel. The Galveston reached the boat at 11:27 p.m. Wednesday but waiting to tow until Thursday morning when sea conditions were more favorable.
The Galveston returned the boat and its five passengers to Käneçohe at 1:30 p.m. today.
