In honor of the 25th Honolulu City Lights, Kahala Mall is displaying photographs of how Shaka Santa, Tutu Mele and the Snow Family have evolved over the past quarter-century.

The exhibit will leave the mall on Nov. 22, but will be back on display at Honolulu Hale when the official tree- lighting ceremony opens the city's annual holiday tree and light display on Dec. 5.

The Friends of Honolulu City Lights this year are selling two ornaments to commemorate the anniversary. Owen Ho designed a brass ornament — the 10th in a series — featuring Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele holding a birthday cake to mark the event's silver anniversary. In addition, a limited-edition commemorative silver ornament is on sale this year only. The ornament is shaped like a snowflake reflecting local quilt patterns with the 25th anniversary logo in the center.

Both ornaments are available for $18 each at Macy's on O'ahu, all branches of First Hawaiian Bank and Borders Books stores at Windward Mall, Pearlridge, Waikele and Ward Centers. They also can be purchased at www.honolulucitylights.org. Ornaments purchased online will cost $21, which includes shipping and handling.
