Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai‘i receiver Greg Salas is back at the top nationally in receiving yards, according to NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision statistics released today.

Salas, a junior from Chino, Calif., is averaging 136 yards per game after 10 games, while last week's leader, Freddie Barnes of Bowling Green, was second with 128.5 yards per game after 10 games. Salas also leads the nation with 1,360 yards this season.
Salas had a career-high 196 yards on a school-record 16 catches in a 24-6 victory over New Mexico State last night for the Warriors (4-6 overall, 2-5 Western Athletic Conference). Davone Bess set the previous record of 15 against Boise State in 2007.
Salas’ 196 yards eclipsed his career-high of 195 set at Washington State this season. He went for over 100 yards for the seventh time this season.
