Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i artist Kahi Ching, who does bonsai, keeps his art "green" in that most of his transformed trees were saved from construction sites and dumping grounds. Ching is also a painter and woodcarver. His bonsai, and portraits of select trees, will be showcased in an exhibit blending abstract art and carving with traditional techniques, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday-Sunday and Nov. 27-29 at Kahi Gallery, on the ground floor of the Alana Waikiki Business Center.

Meet the artist at receptions from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Nov. 27.
