Elton John to perform at Blaisdell Arena in January

Elton John, the original “Rocket Man,” is coming to O‘ahu to perform at Blaisdell Arena on Jan. 6, promoter Tom Moffatt announced this afternoon. John will be performing with renowned percussionist Ray Cooper.

Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Blaisdell Arena Box Office, www.ticketmaster.com and by phoning 800-745-4000. Prices are $67, $97, and $157.
John last performed two soldout shows at the Blaisdell Arena nine years ago, Blaisdell Arena events and services manager John Fuhrmann said in the news release. “We are thrilled to host his return engagement,” Fuhrmann stated.
John and Cooper will be performing John’s greatest hits and more recent songs from his latest release, “Rocket Man•Number Ones.” He has sold more than 200 million records and has 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, 35 gold and 25 platinum albums.
“Rocket Man•Number Ones,” released in March 2007, debuted in the top 10 and features newly compiled and digitally mastered greatest hits spanning the first three decades of the singer-songwriter’s career.
