LaTech DB suspended for half

Associated Press

Louisiana Tech defensive back Chad Boyd has been given a half-game suspension for what Western Athletic Conference officials say was a flagrant foul that wasn't called during last weekend's game against LSU.

Boyd will be suspended for the first half of the game at Fresno State on Saturday.

The WAC said Boyd should have been ejected from the game after he made a hard hit on LSU wide receiver Chris Tolliver during the third quarter.

NEVADA SAFETY OUT

Nevada safety Duke Williams has been suspended for Saturday's football game at New Mexico State after he was arrested over the weekend for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Wolf Pack coach Chris Ault confirmed the suspension of the freshman.

Police records show Williams was arrested along with his cousin and former Wolf Pack recruit Courtney Gardner.
