Makaha bridge work to shut lanes

Advertiser Staff

The State Department of Transportation said there will be a 24-hour, weekend-traffic modification on Farrington Highway at Makaha Bridge 3A (near Kili Drive) from 1 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Sunday. During that time traffic over the bridge will be reduced to one lane and a contraflow will be in effect.

A routine bridge inspection revealed structural damage to the bridges and a temporary repair was made. As a safety precaution, traffic has been reduced to one lane in both directions until permanent repairs can be completed.
Electronic message boards have been placed around the construction area and flagmen will be on duty to direct traffic.
