Hawaii unemployment remains at 7.2%

Hawaii’s unemployment rate was 7.2 percent for the second consecutive month, as the number of residents without a job increased slightly to 46,656 in October.
A report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Hawaii’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was a full three percentage points lower than the national average of 10.2 percent.

Michigan continued to be saddled with the country’s highest joblessness at 15.1 percent.
North Dakota had the lowest at 4.2 percent.
Among western states, California’s rate was 12.5 percent, while Nevada came in at 13 percent.
Oregon was at 11.3 percent and Washington had unemployment of 9.3 percent in October.
