Hawaii gas prices average $3.35 a gallon

The average price of gasoline has risen to $3.23 in Honolulu, $3.37 in Hilo and $3.71 in Wailuku, AAA reports.

The average price of a gallon of regular gas in Hawai'i rose for the fifth consecutive week, to $3.35 a gallon, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

The Hawai'i average price increased 3 cents a gallon from a week earlier and 10 cents from a month ago.

In Honolulu, the average price was $3.23 a gallon, up 2 cents from a week ago and 9 cents from a month ago.

The average price in Hilo was $3.37, up 2 cents from a week ago and 12 cents from the same time last month.

In Wailuku, it was $3.71, up 2 cents from the previous week and 10 cents from a month ago.

The report doesn't include prices for other Neighbor Islands.

CHAN TO CHAIR SECURITIES GROUP SECTION

State Securities Commissioner Tung Chan has been named the chair of the North American Securities Administrators Association's Investor Education Section.

Chan will help advance investor education programs for the organization, which consists of state securities regulators and those from Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Mexico.

The association's securities regulators reach more than 250,000 people through investor education programs. The group is the oldest international organization devoted to securities regulation and investor protection.

STATE'S RICO OFFICE IN KONA MOVING

The Kona office of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' Regulated Industries Complaints Office is moving from its current location at the Keauhou Shopping Center to the Hualalai Center.

The Kona RICO office will be closed Monday for the move and reopen at its new location Tuesday.

The Regulated Industries Complaints Office enforces many of the state's professional licensing laws and educates the public and licensees.

RICO also administers the State Certified Arbitration Program for "lemon" vehicles.
