Oahu’s North Shore may see surf up to 20 feet; high-surf advisory in effect
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said there is a high-surf advisory for north-facing shores of Oahu, Maui and Molokai and for north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau.
The storm that was near the Aleutian Islands several days ago brought a large northwest swell that will peak today. Surf will drop tomorrow but may still be near the advisory level.
The high-surf advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow.
Surf along the impacted shores of Oahu, Kauai and Niihau will be 15 feet to 20 feet today; Molokai and Maui shores will see surf of 12 feet to 18 feet.
