Hospice to hold treelighting events

St. Francis Hospice will hold its annual “Light Up a Memory” treelighting events, which "celebrate the start of the holiday season and the lives of people who have gone before us," on Dec. 4 and Dec. 11.
The first event is set for 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Sister Maureen Keleher Center, 24 Puiwa Road in Nuuanu. Entertainment by the Sandra Wong String Studio and Holiday Harpists. Refreshments will be served.
The Dec. 11 event will be held at 6 p.m. at the Maurice J. Sullivan Family Hospice Center, 91-2127 Fort Weaver Road in Ewa Beach. Entertainment by Na Leo Nahenahe O Na Kupuna under the direction of Kumu Hula Rosemarie Dungca, Refreshments will be served.
By making a donation, a star in memory of a loved one will be hung on one of the Christmas trees at either center. Christmas trees on the front lawns at both centers will be on display throughout the holiday season.
Christmas remembrance requests must be made in advance of the events. For additional information, contact St. Francis Hospice at 547-8142. Donations will go towards providing assistance to hospice patients and families and further developing St. Francis Hospice and Palliative Care services.
