Household Hazardous Waste Collections events will be held in December at the Hilo and Kailua, Kona, recycling & solid waste transfer stations.

Hawai'i County's Department of Environmental Management will hold its Hilo collection event on Dec. 5. The Kona collection event will be held on Dec. 12. Both events will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The events are for household-generated material only. No business or farm wastes will be accepted, county officials said.
