PAGO PAGO, American Samoa — Two thousand doses of swine flu vaccine have arrived in American Samoa.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shipped the doses to the island, which is a territory of the United States.
American Samoa Health Department Director Dr. Salamo Laumoli says 132 members of his agency’s management and staff were the first to be vaccinated.
He says it was important to get them vaccinated because they are on the front line dealing with swine flu virus.
Laumoli says public vaccinations will start this week with pregnant women and children.
Meanwhile, Laumoli says a 5-year-old boy from American Samoa has died from swine flu after being transported to Hawaii. The boy died early this month.
