Donny Osmond is the new champion of "Dancing with the Stars."

Osmond took home the show's mirror ball trophy yesterday in the season finale of the ABC contest reality program. Osmond, the former teen pop star of the singing Osmond family, says the show has been a highlight of his career.

He bested singer Mya, who some expected to win. She had the highest scores going into the finale.

Three celebrities remained heading into the finale of the show's ninth season. Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, was the first eliminated.

Winners of "Dancing with the Stars" are chosen by a combination of scores from judges and votes from viewers.

25 TUNES ADDED TO GRAMMY HALL OF FAME

The Doors' "Riders On The Storm" and the Beach Boys' "California Girls" are among 25 recordings being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The Recording Academy said yesterday that the hall of fame now includes a total of 851 titles that were selected to represent the triumphs and achievements of the recording arts.

Other recordings selected this year include: James Brown's "It's A Man's Man's Man's World," Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad," Janis Joplin's "Pearl," the Isley Brothers' "Twist and Shout," Louis Armstrong's "Lazy River" and Muddy Waters' "I Feel Like Going Home."

CBS LANDS LAMBERT AFTER ABC CANCELS GIG

Adam Lambert's racy American Music Awards performance cost him a gig on "Good Morning America," but he will perform live on ABC's morning rival, CBS' "Early Show."

Lambert was to sing today on "GMA," but the network said yesterday it was canceling the openly gay singer because "we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning." While singing at the awards program on Sunday, Lambert kissed a male keyboardist, fondled a dancer and had another dancer briefly stuff his face in Lambert's crotch.

The glam rocker finished second on "American Idol" this spring.
