JAZZ IT UP WITH HULAVILLE

Manoa Valley Theatre's Studio Series heats up with two nights of jazz-filled holiday music. "The Gift" features The Hot Club of Hulaville putting its French-gypsy jazz stylings to classics like "Baby, It's Cold Outside," "I'll Be Home For Christmas," "Little Drummer Boy," "White Christmas" and "Mele Kalikimaka." Jonathan Sypert is narrating both nights, which are being billed as "an evening of holiday classics with high style and good humor." Light food selections and beverages are available, but you can bring your own for a corkage fee. Doors open at 6 p.m.

MAE, OWL CITY

Indie rock band Mae (pictured) is co-headlining with red-hot Owl City Saturday at 8 p.m. (Pipeline Café, $24, $40, www.groovetickets.com). You can't go wrong with either. Mae has raised $60,000 for charity by donating $1 for every song download this year.

DANE COOK COMES TO TOWN

Comedian Dane Cook is more than another pretty face. Check out his "ISolated INcident" act at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell Arena. ($30, $60, $100, www.ticketmaster.com).

THE 'SECRET' IS OUT AT KAHALA 8

Kahala 8 Theatres' Spotlight Asia! program debuts this week with "Secret," a Taiwanese romance film co-written by, directed by and starring pop star Jay Chou. Spotlight Asia! is designed to bring top overseas movies to Honolulu.

DROOLY AMAZING DISPLAY

Santa's German Gingerbread Village is now on display in the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani lobby through the holidays. It took 250 hours to design and construct, 120 gallons of icing, 60 pounds of dark chocolate, 20 pounds of white chocolate and 30 sheets of gingerbread.
