This year, more than ever, it's important to support our local crafters, artists, retailers and designers by buying gifts that are made in Hawai'i. The scary economy and the downturn in the visitor industry mean Christmas sales depend heavily on kama'äina holiday shoppers.

In this, our 14th annual Made in Hawai'i Gift Wrap-Up, we offer a selection of just a few of our fab finds from shopping around Honolulu. Everything is under $35 — suitable for gifting, even if you're looking to keep your budget under control.

Remember, craft fairs, which are plentiful in the coming weeks, also offer a plethora of gift possibilities. Craft fair listings can be found each Friday in our TGIF calendar, and online at www.HonoluluAdvertiser.com/tgif.
