A motorcycle crash on Maui claimed the life of a Kahului man early yesterday, police said.

Sean Rosete, 31, lost control about 2:10 a.m. and was thrown from his motorcycle while driving southwest on Kamehameha Avenue at School Street.

Police said Rosete was not wearing a helmet and that alcohol and speed may have been factors in the accident.

The crash was the 21st fatality this year for Maui County, compared with the same number at this time last year.
