Three free holiday events are planned in December at the Hawai'i State Library. The Harris United Methodist Church Bell Choirs will put on a concert Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the front lobby. On Dec. 12, puppeteer Christy Lipps will appear in the Edna Allyn Children's Room at 10:30 a.m. with "Holiday Season Puppet Times," followed by the Lutheran Church of Honolulu Choir and Compline Choir performing at 11:30 in the front lobby.

RAIL STATION WORKSHOP SET ON WEDNESDAY

City & County of Honolulu Rail Transit project officials will unveil renderings of a planned Pearl Ridge rail station during a third and final community workshop on Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Pearl Ridge Elementary School. Areas of the train station to be discussed are the "touch down" sections where the elevated portions of the stations meet the street. Categories include color, landscaping, entryway design, exterior and interior wall finishes, seating areas, and plaques and monuments for the station. WINDWARD CITY LIGHTS KICKS OFF TODAY

The annual Windward City Lights block party will take place today from 3 to 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Waikalua Road and Kamehameha Highway in Käne'ohe. The Royal Hawaiian Band will play at 5:20 p.m. followed by a tree-lighting ceremony at 6. Käne'ohe Public Library will close at 1 p.m. to coincide with preparations for the event, which features keiki rides, food and craft booths, visits with Santa and entertainment by Kapena and Ledward Ka'apana.

MANJU BASEBALL CLINIC MOVED TO JANUARY

A Central Oahu Youth Baseball League clinic scheduled for this weekend has been postponed until January. George "Manju" Nitta will instruct players in both defensive and offensive skills at Mililani District Park on Jan. 2 and 9 for Shetland and Pinto players, and on Jan. 3 and 10 for Mustang and Bronco players.
