Second Elton John concert announced for Jan. 9

A second Elton John concert at Blaisdell Arena has been announced for Jan . 9, promoter Tom Moffatt said today.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 800-745-3000, and at www.ticketmaster.com. Prices are $67, $97, and $157.
Elton John’s first concert, Jan. 6, sold out in record time, said John Fuhrmann, Events and Services Manager for the Blaisdell Arena. The concerts will be John’s seventh time performing on O‘ahu since 1971.
John will perform at 8 p.m. on Jan. 8 with percussionist Ray Cooper. They will be playing his greatest hits and more recent songs from his latest release, “Rocket Man•Number Ones.” He has sold more than 200 million records and continues to add innovative work to his personal repertoire of 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, 35 gold and 25 platinum albums.
“Rocket Man•Number Ones,” released in March 2007, debuted in the top 10 and features newly compiled and digitally mastered greatest hits spanning the first three decades of the singer-songwriter’s career.
