Fire crews responding to Maui brushfire

OLINDA, Maui — Fire crews were dispatched to a brushfire that was first reported at 12:27 p.m. today in Olinda. Two helicopters were dispatched to aid firefighters. The fire has burned approximately one acre and is located in a forested area across from the Olinda Bird Sanctuary.

Olinda Road was closed because of fire equipment on the roadway. No homes are in danger and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown. No additional information is available at this time.
