Every Thursday morning KGMB9's Malika Dudley and Byron Furukawa give their tips on what's happening "Around Town" on KGMB9's "Sunrise." This week's recommendations come from Furukawa:

Inspiration comes in many forms. A lot of people find it in music, some find it in laughter, and others find it in food.

De La Soul's debut album "3 Feet High And Rising" has been hailed as one of hip-hop's most influential albums in history. Finding inspiration in their own music and to celebrate the album's 20th anniversary, De La Soul will be reworking tracks from their historic release, along with Biz Markie, this Saturday night at The Waterfront at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

Also happening Saturday, Wine By Numbers will be hosting its version of Oktoberfest, serving up some authentic German culinary delights sure to stir up your taste buds.

Comedian Jo Koy gathers his inspiration from observations of his own personal experiences. From ethnic diversities to his own family, Koy reminds us that we can laugh at and be inspired by our own idiosyncrasies. His show was so popular the last time he came to Pipeline Café, promoters booked him for two shows this time around. Just remember, whatever comes from your inspiration can, and will, inspire others.

Here's what's happening Around Town (in no particular order):

1. De La Soul, The Waterfront at Aloha Tower Marketplace, 8 p.m. Saturday

2. Hawaii Underground Music Awards, Doris Duke Theatre, 4 p.m. Saturday

3. Jo Koy, Pipeline Café, 8 p.m. today and Saturday

4. Oktoberfest, Wine By Numbers, 5 p.m. Saturday

5. Cool Kailua Nights Block Party and Health Awareness Fair, Kailua town (Uluniu Street), 4 p.m. Saturday
