Walk raises $150,000 to fight breast cancer

Advertiser Staff

The American Cancer Society said it raised more than $150,000 yesterday at its inaugural Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event.

More than 3,000 people took part in the 5-mile walk at Richardson Field near the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor to honor breast cancer survivors, educate women about the importance of early detection and prevention and raise money to fund lifesaving research and support programs to further the fight against this disease.
