NFL: McFadden out 2 to 4 weeks with knee injury

Associated Press

ALAMEDA, Calif. — The Oakland Raiders’ struggling offense will be without starting running back Darren McFadden for the next few weeks.

Coach Tom Cable said Monday that McFadden would have surgery Tuesday to repair torn cartilage in his knee. McFadden is expected to miss two to four weeks.
For all the criticism quarterback JaMarcus Russell has received for his poor play, McFadden and the running game haven’t been much better. McFadden had minus-3 yards rushing in Sunday’s loss at Houston and is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry.
Russell is completing just 39.8 percent of his passes and Oakland’s offense is ranked last in the NFL.
Cable also said right tackle Cornell Green will miss two to four weeks with a strained calf.
