The free Talk Story Festival at McCoy Pavilion Friday to Sunday brings storytellers from across the nation to Hawai'i. Four of those storytellers will also share their magic at some of O'ahu's public libraries throughout October in free presentations for the entire family. Storyteller extraordinaire Lyn Ford even gets Maui and Kaua'i residents into the act when she travels to the Neighbor Islands with her spooky ghost stories. Get the complete schedule on our new blog, On the Cheap! where Leslie Lang and Kris Bordessa share tips for cheap or free family fun. Together they also write the blogs www.HonoluluOnTheCheap.com and www.BigIslandOnTheCheap.com.

HALLOWEEN SAVINGS

SWAP OLD COSTUME FOR A DIFFERENT ONE

Since Halloween costumes are often used only once and outgrown by the next Halloween, www.AlohaParent.com is putting together a Halloween costume exchange 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Aliamanu Elementary School Cafeteria.

To participate, bring clean, gently used costumes on hangers for children ages 0-13 to swap for another costume to use this year. Those who don't have costumes to exchange or who bring in costumes in poor condition can purchase costumes for $5 at noon, or after all the exchangers have made their selections.

No refunds will be given and extra costumes will be donated to local charities.

For more information, visit www.AlohaParent.com, call Ann at 351-7171 or e-mail info@alohaparent.com.
