Former Kahuku star Shiloah Te'o dismissed from 18th-ranked BYU football team

Advertiser Staff and Wire Reports

PROVO, Utah — Brigham Young University football coach Bronco Mendenhall has kicked defensive back Shiloah Te’o off the team.

Mendenhall said in a statement yesterday that Te’o, a Kahuku High graduate, has been dismissed from the 18th-ranked Cougars for an undisclosed violation of team rules. He did not elaborate.
Te’o, a 5-foot-10, 206-pound sophomore from Laie, had five tackles, including one tackle for a loss, in five games this season.
Te'o is the cousin of former Punahou School standout Manti Te'o, now a freshman linebacker at Notre Dame.
