“Noho Hewa, The Wrongful Occupation of Hawaii” — last year’s Halekulani Golden Orchid Award for Best Documentary at the Hawaii International Film Festival — is screening at 6:30 tonight at Paliku Theatre.

A question and answer session with filmmaker Keala Kelly will follow the screening.
The film is screening in both Tacoma and Albuquerque next week and was part of the Aoteara Film Festival in New Zealand last month, news releases from the film’s Web site, nohohewa.com, stated.
The film covers several topics from a native Hawaiian perspective, including loss of Hawaiian culture, homelessness and militarism. It’s been heralded as both thought-provoking and as a film rich with analysis.
