Hawaiian Airlines said it is temporarily adding a third weekly flight between Honolulu and Pago Pago in American Samoa starting Wednesday to help meet the need in the aftermath of the recent tsunami.

On Oct. 14, 21, 28 and Nov. 4, Flight 1465 will depart Honolulu at 7:50 a.m. and arrive in Pago Pago at 12:15 p.m. Return Flight 1466 will depart at 2 p.m. on the same days and arrive in Honolulu at 8:10 p.m.

The new flights are in addition to Hawaiian's twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) scheduled service between Honolulu and Pago Pago.

Hawaiian said it will decide later whether to continue a third weekly flight after Nov. 4.

ROAD RUNNER TURBO GETS SPEED BOOST

Oceanic Time Warner Cable said it is increasing download speeds available to its Road Runner Turbo customers.

The new feature, at no additional cost to customers, will temporarily provide downloads significantly faster than the current 8 megabytes per second.

With PowerBoost, the company said, speeds up to 14 mbps are possible in downloading large files from the Internet when network capacity is available.

VERIZON WIRELESS ACTIVATES NEW CELL SITE

Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site that extends wireless coverage along O'ahu's Leeward shore, including Ma'ili, and parts of Wai'anae and the Lualualei Naval Reserve.

Verizon said the addition is part of its multibillion- dollar network investment each year.

Verizon Wireless said it spent $29 million to enhance services and coverage in Hawai'i during 2008.
